The rapid socio-economic transformation has affected various aspects of Society. Industrialisation, urbanisation and migration of population have brought the concept of nuclear family. As a result of which a section of the family, primarily the elders are confronting the problems of financial, physical and mental support. The elderly in the society faces a number of problems due to absence of assured and sufficient income to support themselves for their healthcare and other social securities. Loss of a social role & recognition, non-availability of opportunities for creative and effective use of free time are also becoming a matter of great concern for elderly persons.
Considering this aspect, VYK with the support of BOSCH initiated an elderly care Project, CREDILA (Care for Rural Elders with Dignity Despite their Lower Aspirations) with the objective to provide support to really needy elderly living in adverse situation. We are highly thankful to our associated CSOs who are executing the project at the ground. We appreciate their untiring efforts.
