Vishwa Yuvak Kendra conducts in-house training programmes, seminars and workshops on relevant social issues like education, health, entrepreneurship development. We also focus upon organizing State level thematic programmes and training, in collaboration with identified Sate organizations, on subjects of regional and national relevance, like disaster management, fundraising, right to information, NGO management, promotion of agro entrepreneurship etc. To further widen the reach of our programmes, we also organize seminars/workshops/training programmes at various Educational Institutions for imparting knowledge and skills to the students of our country.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the social scenario of the country has drastically changed and our socio-economic condition has been severely affected. It is imperative to change the style and manner of implementing programmes, taking into account the “new normal” lifestyle. To ensure this, re-strategizing, flexibility in activities and contextual decisions are key fundamental driving forces. Considering these facts, VYK is organising a series of webinars, in place of conventional programmes where the physical presence of participants is required. Like our regular programmes, these are organized on contextual topics for the benefit of representatives of CSOs in particular, and the common masses in general.
VYK is in process of initiating Livelihood promotion programs and Income Generating activities through reliable partners. The partner organization is being explored, for the Livelihood Promotion and Generation program, and will soon be launched.
We have also planned and organized a series of webinars on key social issues. The webinars are being conducted independently, with partner organizations and in collaboration with institutions. The focus being social issues, especially the ones born during pandemic-2020, the webinars are themed accordingly.
Vishwa Yuvak Kendra has reached a large population through different digital platforms and social media platforms. We are sharing a brief of the webinars conducted by Vishwa Yuvak Kendra.
The youth are not just leaders of tomorrow but are also partners of the present. Renowned speakers and social activists equipped and oriented the youth about their role and responsibility in amelioration of the country. The webinar was aimed at educating the young force on social cohesion, economic prosperity, political stability and moral responsibility. It also helped individuals become enablers and catalysts in these times of dilemma.
Stress management has been chosen as a topic of relevance, especially during the outbreak of COVID-19, as emotional health is the least stressed upon issue and the trauma caused due to this pandemic has sabotaged the mental and emotional peace of many. The objective of the webinar was to learn about the different types of stress and techniques to overcome the same, especially during times of COVID-19.
outbreak has not only devastated lives physically and emotionally but has also sabotaged the livelihood avenues, especially for the underprivileged sector. The rginalized and resource-deficit community of India is under a threat to both health and loss of income-generating activities. Also, vulnerability and lack of livelihood opportunities leads to failure of access to resources, and safe and secured life. Vishwa Yuvak Kendra believes that as the country prepares itself to enter the ‘New Normal’, we shall not forget the conventional livelihood resources that have been there since ages, serving the society both socially and economically. The webinar focused to discuss about the causes of loss of livelihood and scope for its revival. It also encouraged Government, voluntary organization and youth to help in rehabilitation and re-integration of the unemployed and vulnerable.
Organizations do not emerge spontaneously rather; they gradually grow and mature with the help of mobilization of resources. Resource Mobilization includes sophisticated skills and strategies that work towards creating an organization structure, forging alliances and attracting supporters and donors. The outbreak of COVID-19 has led to various social and economic problems globally. It has changed the dimensions of community problems and hence, has affected drastically on the ongoing and future development programs of the voluntary organizations as they have exhausted the existing resources. To meet the changing needs and to provide the welfare services through adoption of better methods to help people, there is urgent need of resources. Keeping in view the virtues of voluntary organizations, their dedication, flexibility and nearness to the community, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra comes forward to equip and enhance their skills and knowledge, respectively, which would help in their sustainable growth and development.
